Our names are Janelle and Kimberly aka Kimbo.  Janelle is 48 years old, a 6 year Breast Cancer Survivor and Kimbo is 52 years old, a 7 year Breast Cancer Survivor.  Both were diagnosed with breast cancer after annual mammograms. We both choose to have a bi-lateral mastectomy.  Kimbo's reconstruction was done with the tram-flap procedure and Janelle had implants.  We are both very happy with our decisions and the outcome of our reconstruction.  We have no problems with showing you want a bi-lateral mastectomy looks like... we are not shy.

  Janelle and Kimbo became good friends when Kimbo learned that Janelle had breast cancer.  Kimbo supported her through her breast cancer journey.  After Janelle completed her journey we decided together that we needed to support other women as a team.  Janelle had so much to offer other women as well.  We help newly diagnosed women and men get through the journey they are about to face.   Having Breast Cancer is not the end of the world.  We promise that you will look back and re-evaluate your life and what is important.  We both cannot say that we regret our experience with breast cancer.  We look at life as a gift, things that seemed so important in the past are not so important anymore.  You tend to have less patients with the trivial things that come your way in life. 

  In 2008, Janelle and Kimbo were honored to be handed over the baton in the relay of support from a group called the “Bosom Buddies” in Canyon Lake, California.  One of the definitions of “buddy” is a good friend, which most women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer need. That need for support, friendship and encouragement is what spurred four Canyon Lake breast cancer survivors to start Bosom Buddies in the late seventies.  With plans to fulfill the vision of the original four survivors, Janelle and Kimbo gladly accepted the baton in the relay of support.
